Hi,
I saw your video on eyelid surgery and was wondering if it was recommended for people past a certain age only? I'm going to be 28 years old soon but I feel that I look tired because of my eyes. I've tried a few eye creams but I just don't have that fresh look anymore I feel and this is with my overall face too.
Please do let me know if lower eyelid is something I can look at regardless of my age and also how long the effects would last.

Thank you,

Ric

Dear Ric

Thank you for your enquiry.  The lower eyelids tend to age either by developing slightly loose skin or by becoming puffy because of movement forward of the fatty cushions which surround the eyeball.

These are often treated by surgery but at 27 it is probably a bit early to perform this at this stage- particularly as there are now a number of solutions which do not require and operation.

It would be very helpful if you could send us a photograph of your lower eyelids and I will them be able to give you a more definite answer as to the best way forward for you.

Once again thank you for your enquiry- with best wishes

Thank you so much for your reply and as suggested I will send a photo of my lower eyelids so that you can recommend some non- surgical solutions. It was very honest of you to recommend an alternative when there are doctors out there who are so 'money hungry' that they would only be too happy to do a surgery regardless of the person's age. Maybe once I get into my mid 30's would I look at doing a surgical procedure.

Hi Ric

Thank you for sending us your photographs.  It does look as if you have some puffiness in your right lower eyelid.  This could be treated by removal via a hidden incision in the inner aspect of your eyelid.

As I mentioned this is something you could consider in a few years as the puffiness is relatively mild at the moment
